ARTISTS:

untitled 2021 (a perfect kiss)
Stainless steel base, 3D printed plastic 35 3/8"cubed
  • complexity and the thinness of the leaves and that it looks natural is insane
  • presented with reflective steal
  • layered based printing
  • plastic
This inspired me just how delicate one person can make plastic look. Also I couldn't imagine the time and the details put into to capture the tree's feel with shadows considered how leaves would fall, stuff like that all makes it feel real.

Neri Oxman is known for her artworks being biological and at times she creates art utilizing living organisms. She likes to connect nature and humanity.
  • She has used a variety of 3D printing materials including: cement, bio materials; shrimp shells, glass
  • She has also made wearable 3D designs
  • Lots of design relates to the human body, biology
  • uses robotically controlled arm
  • presents her work in variety of ways: Videos, motion-graphics, on her website and in person sculpture, wall
I thought this example was insane that she could use the mix of biology components with technology to create something that is almost living. It also showed more of her unique materiality works, she has used plastic, and has created numerous 3D fabricated pieces all inspired by biology.

VIRAAG DESAI

After the Void Vl; 12 x 16 x 3"; Resin on paper; 2022
  • 3D printed resin,

  • “I am very interested in the idea of the 'anthropocene' and the blurred line between human and natural activity. Organic forms growing around and absorbing the mechanical to create a new sort of breed. Similarly, the masses of people often appear as branches or waves as they escape the grid of their urban live"
This is another example of nature and machine.

I think for my concept I do want to approach a naturalistic feel to it, Not sure how but Its really beautiful how delicate and intricate a machine can aid. It would be cool to do a mix of simple organic shape mixed with some intricate details.
